White Crozes-Hermitage

Fresh upfront citrus and stone fruit with floral, honey hints that deepen to dried fruit notes over time.

Crozes-Hermitage is known for its red wines but it does turn out a small quantity of vibrant white blends made from Marsanne and Roussanne grapes. These whites are ready to drink right away with lively green apple and lemon plus undertones of peach, candied fruits, honey, and a brush of florals. Within a couple of years, white Crozes-Hermitage develops pleasing dried fruit lifted by gentle acidity. Both styles are ideal aperitifs and paired with grilled or fried fish.

Crozes-Hermitage is one of the biggest wine producers in the Northern Rhône, encompassing both simple, easy-drinking and complex styles. A stone’s throw from the prestigious Hermitage wine area, Crozes-Hermitage has many of the same grape varieties but its reds and whites don’t quite match the lofty status of its neighbor. This means lower price tags making this region the perfect place to start exploring the wonderful world of Northern Rhône wines.

Fun Fact: More than 90% of wines from Crozes-Hermitage are red with the remaining quantity turned over to the production of white styles.
