Orange Muscat

Powerfully fragrant white wine with stand-out orange blossom notes, pear, apple, apricot, and spice made in a range of wine styles.

Orange Muscat offers a distinctive profile bursting with intense citrus, blossom, and spicy orchard and stone fruit. This impressively versatile grape is grown for wines in Old and New World regions.

The origin of the Orange Muscat grape variety is believed to be Italy where it’s known as Moscato Fior d’Arancio or France where its name is Muscat Fleur d’Orange. Both languages translate into something like “muscat flower of the orange” which perfectly illustrates its dominant intense citrus, floral character. A cross between Muscat Blanc à Petit Grains and Swiss variety, Chasselas, this relatively obscure grape combines the grape flavors and citrus notes of its parents. Made in limited quantities globally, intrepid winemakers in the United States and Australia have successfully tried their hands at crafting a range of wine styles from Orange Muscat, with California, Victoria, and Rutherglen key production areas. This is a must-taste vino for fans of aromatic Muscat wines.

Fun Fact: One of the parents of this variety, Muscat Blanc à Petit Grains and its sprawling family, is among the oldest grapes in the world.
